Based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Lyra has been writing, recording and performing as a solo artist for over a decade. While she writes all the music and lyrics on piano, she often performs with a band at her live shows. Her music is an eclectic blend of piano driven indie-dream pop with a prominent focus on compelling, surreal lyrics.
She released her debut album, The Language of Eyes, in 2015, followed by a music video for her single “Cheek & Bruise”. She has performed at several festivals: The Edmonton, Calgary and Canmore Folk Festivals, The Edmonton Fringe Festival and UP+DT Festival. The Language of Eyes finished at #7 on CJSR’s Top 300 albums of 2015 and she was nominated for 4 awards at the 2016 Edmonton Music Awards.
In June 2017, she released her newest single, A Little Vulture Told Me, followed by a music video. In April 2018, she was nominated for 6 Edmonton Music Awards: Female Artist of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Adult Alternative Recording of the Year, Pop Recording of the Year, Singer/Songwriter of the Year and People’s Choice. She is currently working on completing her next album.
